A must for both classic and modern car enthusiasts alike, the New Zealand Classic Car magazine Ellerslie Car Show is the highlight of every car lover’s calendar. On the second Sunday in February each year, thousands of car enthusiasts visit Ellerslie Racecourse to enjoy the country’s biggest line up of classics, many of which are rated among the world’s best restorations.
The New Zealand Classic Car magazine Ellerslie Car Show is a unique event. This extravaganza features the widest range of classic car marques in New Zealand. It is your only chance to see 700 – 800 classics from over 75 car clubs in one place, at one time. And for those who like to keep up with the latest and greatest, vehicles from leading new car dealerships are also showcased.
One of the features of the day is The Intermarque Concours d’Elegance. These coveted awards are a celebration of classic and marque cars in both their original and restored forms. The competition is fierce for these prestigious awards which are judged by international standards. Car Clubs from around the country vie for a chance to win trophies, prizes and for the club who wins the Team Event, the Intermarque Shield and the honour of hosting next year’s event.

‘This money can’t buy’ experience is part of the Tours d’Elegance, held on Saturday 8th February, the day before the show. This event, which is usually not open to members of the public, features a morning drive from Ellerslie Racecourse, in convoy with other classic cars, to the Hunting Lodge in Kumeu.
The Hunting Lodge is a unique 80 acre estate with a storied history that dates back to 1868. On arrival at The Hunting Lodge, the winners will have the chance to mix with other classic car enthusiasts while enjoying the picturesque grounds of the vineyard garden. They will then be treated to a delicious lunch for two in the award winning onsite restaurant.
