Guest Speakers

Robert Hill-Smith
Yalumba Wines, Australia

Gimblett Gravels Vs Barossa Valley
We put these top wine regions to the test with wine legend Robert Hill-Smith of Yalumba, South Australia. Come ready to taste and compare some newer and older beauties in this NZ Vs Oz battle, one not to be missed!

About Robert Hill-Smith
A fifth generation descendant of Samuel Smith who founded Yalumba in 1849, Robert did not need to find an industry in which to build a career. Born in Yalumba, the wine game was in his blood stream before he knew about it, and the winery was his playground much to the annoyance of the Yalumba workers! Moving his way up the ranks of the family business, Yalumba has emerged as one of the Australian wine industry's success stories under his leadership. Among other accolades, Robert has been recognised for his contribution to the Australian wine industry with the prestigious 'Len Evans Award' by Gourment Traveller WINE.

Nick Stock
Australia

The Great NZ Pinot Tour
Join globetrotting wine critic Nick Stock tasting Winetopia’s best pinots from North to South

Chardonnay Shootout

His wealth of knowledge extends to all corners of the wine world and this, combined with his frank and fearless style, has made him one of the most popular and widely read Australian wine writers. He engages all - from the most sophisticated and involved collector right through to the enthusiast and novice wine drinker - with his savvy, informed and user-friendly style.

Bob Campbell (MW)
New Zealand

The Prestige Masterclass*

Pick of the Pinots?
Pinot Noir is Bob's desert island wine. He will explain why it's top of his hit parade as he invites you to share a selection of his favourite labels.

*These Masterclass sessions begin 15-minutes prior to gates opening and main session beginning. Please ensure you’re at the event 10-minutes prior to this Masterclasses start time, and make yourself known to event staff to gain early entry.

About Bob Campbell (MW)
New Zealand’s best known and most prolific voice in wine, Bob Campbell, was the second New Zealander and is one of only 396 people in the world to hold the Master of Wine qualification. He is widely regarded as New Zealand’s foremost wine educator, with more than 22,000 people having attended Bob’s wine diploma courses in New Zealand, Asia and Europe. He is wine editor of Your Home & Garden, Taste and the Air NZ in-flight magazine, as well as being New Zealand wine editor for Gourmet Traveller Wine. Bob contributes to wine publications in seven countries, and is currently chairman of judges at the NZ International Wine Show and chairman of the New Zealand section of the London-based Decanter World Wine Awards.
