Get your ticket to visit eight stunning homes all dressed for Christmas!
Heavenly Homes is a major fundraiser for St Pius X School and is a fabulous day of baubles, tinsel and Christmas fun. It’s your chance to visit a selection of New Plymouth homes specially decorated for the holiday season.
2020 is our fourth Heavenly Homes event and we are delighted that these wonderful homeowners are opening their doors for us:
• 20A Magnolia Dr, Westown
The Gibbs’ L.O.V.E. Christmas! For three months every year Julia transforms their home into a Christmas wonderland of sparkle and joy. Her five (yes five!) Christmas trees are overloaded with fairy lights and precious ornaments collected over the past 40 years. Come and delight in the Gibbs’ love for all thing Christmas.
• 100A Carrington St, New Plymouth
Break open the bubbles and join Debbie and Gordon for a champagne Christmas breakfast! An entertainer’s dream any day of the year, the couple’s modern home and large garden gets a seasonal makeover at Christmas. Come see festive treasures from three generations alongside the eclectic art and native birds found all-year-round at this elegant property.
• 22B Holsworthy Rd, New Plymouth
You’ll find more than a spoonful of Christmas in this supercalifragilistic grand character home. Come celebrate a classic English Christmas and admire this designer home which owners Ros and Craig have elevated with the help of talented interior designer Alisha Barnes of Plantation Design Store. The indoors will be festooned with Christmas cheer, and gourmet treats will be available in the formal, Michael Mansvelt-designed gardens.
• 45 Junction St, Welbourn
Regulars to the Christmas Shop will recognise Janette from behind the counter and will be expecting big things – you won’t be disappointed. Janette has been collecting Christmas decorations for many years (rumour has it she’s her own biggest customer!) and her house overflows with treasures.
• 12A Frank Frethey Place, Highlands Park
Dianna says she’s passionate about Christmas, but husband Brent disagrees – he says she’s Christmas crazy! Visit their home, tucked away on a quiet cul-de-sac and backing onto a lush, leafy reserve, and decide for yourself. Dianna’s theme this year is Dragonflies and Reindeer and will feature both traditional and modern touches as well as table settings for adults and children.
• 5 Tupuhi Place, Highlands Park
Long-time supporters of our event, Brett and Leanne Stokell from Guize are taking the plunge this year and opening up their home. Brett and Leanne’s chic contemporary Christmas vibe is perfectly matched to their modern home – throw in a touch of flair and charisma and you have the perfect recipe for a jolly Christmas celebration.
• 183 Mangorei Rd, Merrilands
Anna and Ardy invite you to be part of their fun family Christmas. With three little people at home, the emphasis is on making Christmas magical. As well as opening their home, Anna and Ardy will share the special traditions they’ve created to make memories that will be treasured for years to come. Make sure you pop into Santa’s Workshop where some very special elves will be hard at work!
• 17 Beach St, Fitzroy
The Harrison family welcome you into their brand-new home (we’re talking, not due to be completed until just before the big day!) to enjoy a relaxed Kiwi Christmas seasoned liberally with unpretentious elegance. Peter and Nicola have designed this stunning new home to make the most of their coastal location and enable visitors to, year-round, enjoy the things that make Christmas special to their family – giving, sharing and enjoying the outdoors.
To make your tour even more enjoyable there will be food and beverages available along the way (including a coffee cart, bake sale, Christmas cakes, mocktails and gourmet treats) as well as entertainment and market stalls selling festive treasures.
Mobile EFTPOS will be available at many locations but we recommend bringing cash with you (proceeds from these stalls will go to St Pius X School).
The money raised from Heavenly Homes goes directly towards giving students a richer educational experience and funding projects like the purchase and installation of sunshades and weather protection for our tamariki while they play.
