At a time when we are being encouraged to keep local the Thistle Inn is doubling down and going hyper-local. Join them for a night of gastronomy featuring wild New Zealand food, local beverages and meet some of the sustainable suppliers including Awatoru Wildfood, Randwick Meats, Scottys Meats, Fish Factory, Palliser Estate Wines and ParrotDog who provide our produce.
Start your night with carefully crafted kiwi canapés matched with a local bubbly. Or some local charcuterie hanging and sliced to order. Local suppliers, winemakers and brewers will be on hand so you can hear straight from the source.
Followed by a long table five-course dinner menu in our private dining room: wild game pie, pork and pāuā sausages, a cray and groper head boil up, wild venison loin and other local delicacies. All courses will be matched with a local wine or beer and to finish the night off indulge in some Wellington chocolate matched with Ruahine Port lounging around the fireplace.
