Lunch at the Brooklyn Grill with Lois Daish - 11th October (Lunch)
A celebration of Lois Daish whose unique values and approach have quietly shaped the DNA of many restaurants in Wellington, including Rita. This three-course lunch will reflect on the common threads that are shared between three generations of cooks.
Pierrre et Denise - Auvergne in Aro with Adrien Levigne - 18th October (Dinner)
A native of Auvergne France, Adrien will cook a dinner which will evoke visiting his family's farmhouse table. Growing up in a restaurant family (Pierre and Denise are his parents) and having spent time in Michelin starred kitchens, Adrien married a New Zealander and now calls Wellington home. The green and mountainous landscape of Auvergne would feel familiar to New Zealanders but the food culture has developed unique features, which will be showcased in an evening of shared plates.
Farmgirl to Table with Kahlivia Russell - 25th October (Dinner)
Kahlivia was raised in rural Taranaki, where meals were sourced off the family land and surrounds. She went onto study industrial design where she focused on sustainability and biomimicry. These contrasting experiences plus time spent in Melbourne have lent her a unique sensibility that has shaped her perspective on food. Kahlivia has cooked at Nikau, Cumulus (Melbourne) and is currently at Rita.
