Sisters Sophia Acheson (viola) and Helen Acheson (soprano) come together as duo Spaghetti Sounds. The works are a taster platter of delicious NZ music for voice and viola - a collection of contemporary ‘classical’ compositions! The voice and viola are well matched – sisters in music as well as biological siblings. Helen’s light voice is clear and tuneful. Sophia’s viola playing is full-bodied, rich and resonant, and every technique – double stopping, pizzicato, string crossing (and stamping) is accurate and musical!
