Due to the impacts of Covid-19 Alert Level 4 and Level 3 over the past few week, we regret to inform that we have been unable to secure an available date to stage the Chef’s Table with Mr Morris event.

This event will be cancelled and iTICKET will work with you on the refunds process.

For one night in the intimate subterranean dining space of Mrs Morris, the forgotten dishes of Meredith’s return. 

After a three-year hiatus, one of New Zealand’s most renowned chefs, Michael Meredith, has made a return to the Auckland dining scene with his Britomart eatery, Mr Morris and the menu is the epitome of Kiwi-born fusion food with a nod to a Pasifika influence. 

Chef Michael Meredith was born in the island-nation of Samoa and grew up watching his mother cook in the markets of Apia. Although street food is far from the elegantly innovative cuisine of Meredith’s and Mr Morris today, Michael still credits his mother and his Samoan upbringing for laying a foundation for his no-waste culinary philosophy. He has a unique style and a reputation as a conjurer of flavour and texture. He also believes there is innovation in simplicity – the innovation is to transform a seasonal ingredient, so it creates a cuisine that is simple and pure. 

The menu at Mr Morris is less technique-driven than his previous restaurant Meredith’s. Avid foodies will remember the much-lauded recognition Meredith’s received for redefining New Zealand cuisine as well as its numerous accolades received over a decade in operation. 

For this one very exclusive evening, Michael Meredith is bringing back the forgotten dishes of Meredith’s and offering an up-close and private dining experience in Mrs Morris the private dining room in the restaurant, that will have you reliving the fond memories and forgotten dishes of the well-loved Meredith’s with a five-course menu matched to exquisite wines.
