This event will give you the unique opportunity to learn how to create ‘French Apéro’ with the best New Zealand and European cheeses. Apéro is important in the French culture, typically it takes place an hour before dinner and is a time for unwinding over a drink and a cheese platter with your loved ones. It is all about sharing and preparing your palate for the meal to follow.
Through this event, Le Marche Francais will equip you with the language to communicate more confidently about cheese, discussing key descriptors like age, maturation, provenance, and species of milking animal. You will also learn about the correct way to taste cheese to give you a deeper appreciation of its flavour, texture, and quality. Once you have soaked up all this knowledge, it is time to practice! Learn how to create incredible cheese, vegetable and meat platters using a selection of local cheeses from Cartwheel Creamery, Mahoe Farmhouse, Moody Cow and Thorvald, as well as European cheeses, dried meat, crackers made locally from The Baked Danes, seasonal fruits and veggies, nuts, local honey, and pastes.
You will leave with your cheese platter ready to be eaten with your loved ones!
Ticket includes: 500g of cheeses, everything you need to create your platter.
Please note that seating for this event will be at shared tables, this means you may be seated with other people as well as the group you have booked with.
