        Encore Theatre Collective’s Summer Stage School Presents
        FAME Jr

        As part of Encore’s Summer Stage School, 30 high school students from around Auckland have come together to produce a musical in just one week. Meeting for the first time on Monday, these students have taken workshops in Vocals, Choreography and Staging for 5 days, culminating in two performances on Saturday 23rd January.

        Set during the last years of New York City's celebrated High School for the Performing Arts in the early 1980s, Fame JR. is the bittersweet, but ultimately inspiring, story of a diverse group of students who commit to four years of grueling artistic and academic work. With candour, humour and insight, the show explores the issues that confront many young people today.
