The Urban Growth Agenda is current government policy, but how should a city grow? Replace houses with high rise blocks, let the city sprawl? Different experts every night will argue how cities work – but for whom and for what? – and propose ways to make them work better. You must form a council and, together, decide our future.

Devised by elected local board member Alex Bonham and cast Ellie Lim, Hannah Rice, Simon Gilchrist and Talia Parker this show turns politics on its head.

Are you ready to play?

Guest experts include: Grant Hewison of the Low Carbon Network; Tom Irvine of Ngati Whatua Orakei; Emma McInnes of Women in Urbanism; and Greer O’Donnell of the Urban Advisory.

Presented as part of Auckland Fringe 2021.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before show start time. Latecomers admitted into the theatre at Basement's discretion – no refunds will be given.

Please note unfortunately the Basement Studio space is not wheelchair accessible.

$15 and $20 Basement Mates tickets available for this event. Find out more about Basement Mates here.
