BLOOD BROTHERS
Kristin Senior School Production
Book, Music and Lyrics by
WILLY RUSSELL
AN AMATEUR PRODUCTION BY ARRANGEMENT WITH
ORiGiN™ THEATRICAL ON BEHALF OF SAMUEL FRENCH LTD.
The third longest running production in West End history, this multi-award winning show follows the story of the Johnstone twins - brothers separated at birth who grow up in contrasting worlds. Regarded as the ultimate nature vs. nurture story, this tragic tale is equally gripping, funny and heart-rendering, certain to captivate audiences.
Mrs Johnstone, with numerous children to support as a single mother, surrenders one of her new born sons to the childless Mrs Lyons who she cleans for. The boys, Mickey and Edward, grow up streets apart, never learning the truth but becoming firm friends and both falling in love with Mickey's neighbour, Linda. As they grow older, Edward prospers while Mickey falls on hard times, and the huge difference in their backgrounds pulls them apart. Set between the 1960's and 1980's in a Liverpudlian backdrop of social inequality, this poignant story, featuring songs such as 'Tell Me It's Not True', 'Marilyn Monroe' and 'Bright New Day', is sure to both warm and break your heart.
CAUTION IS ADVISED: Please note, this production contains coarse language and adult themes, including references to drugs, alcohol and gun violence. Parental discretion is strongly advised for audience members 11 and under.
