Due to the recent community outbreak of COVID-19 Omicron and the move to a Red Light COVID protection framework across Aotearoa, it is with heavy hearts that we are announcing the cancellation of the February offering of Te Tairāwhiti Arts Festival. Having moved this once already, the further postponement of the event is not viable at this time.
We will continue to plan for our festival event later in 2022 and look forward to bringing the full might of our creative abundance in Tūranga-nui-ā-Kiwa and the great Te Tairāwhiti region. Our sincerest aroha goes out to all our artists, crew, suppliers, ticket holders and community who have backed and believed in us since the beginning.
Hey Tairāwhiti! Wanna see some sweet Michael Jackson dance moves?
We’ve shaken every tree and turned up every rock in an epic search from Potaka to Mohaka to bring together a showcase of Gisborne’s greatest talents, you never knew existed!
Te Tairāwhiti Arts Festival is proud-as-punch to present, the world-premiere of our very own homegrown, comical, courageous and quirky cabaret – All That Glitters is Gizzy.
Hosted by Tairāwhiti’s own entertainment extra-ordinaires, Jackie Clarke and Rutene Spooner, a local line-up of spectacular acts will perform for two nights’ only in a show that will knock your Red-Bands, right off your feet!
We don’t want to give too much away, there might be comedic coasties, nannies with nun-chuck skills, ballet Dancers and belly-dancers, soulful singers or acrobatic swingers.
But one thing is for sure, this will be a Carnivale of top-notch talent, you’ll never see on the same stage again!
Join our hosts Clarke and Spooner for All That Glitters is Gizzy!
