Kerikeri soprano Joanna Foote returns home to present a night of favourite operatic ensembles and solo works from famous operas and operetta. She is joined by internationally renowned artists  Wendy Dawn Thompson, Oliver Sewell, James Harrison and Lindy Tennent-Brown in this one night including works from Mozart, Verdi, Rossini, Puccini, Bizet and more!

Joanna has been praised for her “beautiful voice which reaches high notes effortlessly” and “sparkle-eyed charm”. She has toured America and Europe extensively and most recently sang Susanna for NZOpera’s The Marriage of Figaro.

Charismatic mezzo-soprano Wendy Dawn Thompson has performed with many of the world’s leading opera companies, including the Royal Opera House, Opera Australia and Portugal’s  esteemed Nacional de São Carlos.

Tenor Oliver Sewell studied at the renowned Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia and has been praised for “his lovely, burnished tone colour, natural sense of line, and unstinting generosity”. He has performed as a soloist at the New York Lincoln Centre’s Alice Tully Hall and Carnegie Hall.

Multi-talented baritone James Harrison has been described as portraying characters with “great comic timing and a rich and superbly controlled baritone” having sung throughout the UK including at The Royal Opera House and English National Opera.

Encompassing the orchestra will be versatile pianist and music director Lindy Tennent-Brown. Lindy has worked for The Royal Opera House, English National Opera, Scottish Opera, Aldeburgh, Glyndebourne, English Touring Opera and on London’s West End. Lindy also won the prestigious NZ National Piano Competition in Kerikeri in 2000.
