This event has probably been and gone!
Local historian Michael Fowler, will take you on a 1-hour round trip of the wonders of flight in Hawke’s Bay during the Art Deco era of the 1920s and 1930s. Learn of pioneering air flights and airlines (especially the classic streamlined de Havilland aircraft), how “flappers” took to the sky with dashing pilots, and how the Napier Aero Club battled away to create an aerodrome in a former lagoon, which only a year before was being considered as a seaport for flying boats.
You will be greeted with a complimentary pre-flight, wine, beer or orange juice before we take off at 5.30pm.
