Thursday 6 January. One hour flat walk.
Sturdy footwear and rain wear needed. Morning tea provided, BYO lunch and drinks or buy in Taihape.
Taihape is the Gumboot Capital of the world but there’s much more to the town. Starting with a visit to the venerable movie theatre, locals will take us on a walk to see the old buildings and outline their history. We will also visit the local museum and take a drive around the housing area. On the way home we will visit the Wool Company in Utiku and take a peek at Mangaweka’s fascinating historic backstreet.
Depart 8am. Return approx 5pm. Adult $46, Child $22
