Into the Woods the musical is based on ‘Into theWoods’ written by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine.  Amdram is proud to present ‘Into the Woods’ Directed by 17 year old Maddi McKenzie alongside Musical Director Caleb Arthur, both directing for the first time, creating a dynamic and inspirational team. 

As the story goes a baker and his wife wish for a child but suffer under the curse put upon the Baker’s family by a witch.  The witch had previously found the baker’s father robbing her garden to satisfy his pregnant wife’s needs.  The curse was set and the witch demanded the couples first born, a female child, to raise as her own.  The witches own mother also cursed her with ugliness.

This is a modern twist on the fairtales written by Brothers Grimm, intertwining plots, beautiful voices, granting wishes and breaking hearts…and do they all live happliy ever after?  You will have to come and see.
