Thank you very much for your support, we do appreciate it and apologise for the inconvenience.

A rare opportunity to visit this exclusive wildlife restoration project at Ocean Beach, Hawke’s Bay!

Ticket numbers are strictly limited, both to protect this precious wildlife habitat and to comply with the Covid-19 Traffic Light system.

All proceeds will support people living with Parkinson’s in the Hawke’s Bay region.

A fantastic gift experience or a treat for yourself – the Cape Sanctuary is not accessible to the general public.  The total walk is 17km along farm tracks and beach front, in stunning scenery. Uneven and undulating terrain, so sturdy, covered footwear and a reasonable level of fitness is required.  Not really suitable for most children.

Visit the predator-fenced wildlife sanctuary where takahe, kaka, kakariki and tuatara may be seen.

The landowners have a vision to restore the coastal communities of native land birds, seabirds, reptiles and invertebrates that once would have existed there, back to the peninsula.

Lunch (BBQ baps) is included - at the end of the walk – and there are water-bottle refilling stations (& loos) along the way.

      *Please note:

      • You can start the walk any time between 9.00 and 10.00 am – it’s not a race!
      • Bring a water bottle with you.  We will have water refill stations around the course to top up your bottles.
      • Limited toilet facilities along the course.
      • Bring sunblock, a hat and camera.
      • Please leave all gates as you find them and treat all electric fences as LIVE.
      • As lunch will be at the day-house, at the end of the walk, we recommend you bring a snack.
      • NB: there is limited cell-phone coverage out there, especially on the flat.
      • Please DO NOT bring your dog, or other family pet.
      • No bikes, sorry.
      • If the Saturday is wet and unsuitable for walking, we will hold the walk on Sunday 20 March.

The event is able to take place in all settings of the Traffic Light alert system, with the use of ‘My Vaccine Pass’.

In the Red Traffic Light setting, attendees will be limited to 100.
(While under the Red setting, ticket sales will be strictly limited to 100.
If the setting is reduced to Orange, further tickets may be released for sale.)

Should the event need to be cancelled for any reason, there will be no postponement date. In the event of the event being cancelled due to COVID-19, ticket-holders would receive a refund, less any booking fees.
