The Sun and The Wind & The Handlers | Kōanga Festival 2022 | Te Pou Theatre
The Sun and the Wind, a new work by acclaimed playwright Tainui Tukiwaho is a surreal home drama about the dangers of holding on to things that aren’t yours to hold. Prepare yourself for a birthday part you’ll never forget.
The Handlers by Alvie McKree is a story of Auckland in the 1970s: when a group of Māori women working at Crown Lynn Potteries all take time off to attend a tangihanga, the production line grinds to a halt. Now their jobs are on the line.
Join us in hearing these works presented for the first
time.
Nau mai, piki mai, kake mai.
This double bill play reading is presented by Te Pou Theatre as part of their Kōanga Festival 2022, celebrating Māori storytelling for the stage. See www.tepoutheatre.nz for the full festival programme.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before show start time. Latecomers admitted into the theatre at Basement's discretion. No refunds will be given.
Please note unfortunately the Basement Studio space is not wheelchair accessible.
