BLUE EYES
NZ Playwright April Phillips has created a touching storyline into which she has woven many Sinatra favourites. As she prepares to farewell her beloved Mum, Frances finds some old letters. They are fan letters to Frank Sinatra, written by her late Mum when she was young, but never posted. As Frances reads them and learns of her Mum’s hopes and dreams, we are taken back to the 60s nightclub scene where songs from Ol’ Blue Eyes repertoire are performed by the young Mum, supported by Jimmy and Andy, backed by a great 7-piece band. What happened to those dreams? Frances reads on – and finds out.
