From Taika Waititi to Peter Jackson, New Zealand continues to leave its mark on the storytelling industry. But what is it that gives us the ability to tell such influential stories? We may be small, but our tales transpire beyond just ourselves, resonating and connecting with audiences abroad. Our stories are putting us on the map. Drama, comedy, and everything in between, it is our kiwi playwrights that share our little slice of heaven with the rest of the world.
Presented by Invercargill Drama Academy, Tales from the Long White Cloud is a thrilling compilation of monologues and scenes from New Zealand playwrights, showcasing the rising acting talent we have in Southland. From writers such as Oscar-nominated Anthony McCarten to Billy T Award Winner Abby Howells, this rollercoaster is about experiencing storytelling brilliance from New Zealand’s most accomplished writers through a local and compelling ensemble of actors.
