Travel with us to the fantastical world of the 1970’s queer phenomenon, waacking, and enter Club Waack –a love letter to this street dance style pioneered by the Black and Spanish gay community in Los Angeles, told through a distinctly New Zealand queer lens.

Explore the theatrical and glamorous influences that embellish this dance style and its fight for survival in a society full of oppressive social constraints. 

Ride alongside a queer journey of self-discovery where waacking unlocks a freedom to express. 

Witness the protests and queer trials that shut it down, and help us celebrate its rise from the ashes and everything a society once rejected.
