First held in the early 80's, Daybreaker Rally became one of New Zealand’s most iconic gravel-based competition rally events and regularly ran as a round of the National Rally Championship. 

With it's most recent edition held in 2014, Manawatu's Daybreaker boasts some of New Zealand's most famous names as winners including Neil Allport, Joe McAndrew, Ben Hunt and the late Possum Bourne.

The 2023 Daybreaker Rally - powered by Brian Green Properties, will be the penultimate round of the New Zealand Rally Championship with 100 rally teams lining up to start the event on Friday evening in Manchester Square, Feilding before embarking on a gruelling 150km of some of New Zealand's most iconic rally stages.

Headlining the return of the Daybreaker Rally will be New Zealand’s best and most current rally stars, including newly crowned European Rally Champion and 6x New Zealand Rally Champion Hayden Paddon, 3x Supercars Champion, 2x Bathurst winner and 2023 Chicago NASCAR winner Shane van Gisbergen, McLaren XE factory driver Emma Gilmour and New Zealand Rally Champion Ben Hunt.
