The tastiest little seafood festival in New Zealand is back!

Set on the wharf & cruise ship terminal at Port Otago, the Port Chalmers Seafood Festival is the perfect day out for seafood lovers who want to pair their tasty kai moana with high-quality beverages and entertainment for kids big and small.

The Festival is the perfect event for family and friends to learn about and taste our local seafood (and land food too!) while enjoying world-class kiwi music, locally brewed craft beer thanks to Emerson’s, fine wine and a kids entertainment line-up like no other in the country. 

If your wee fishies want to get up close and personal with our local sea life, we have everything from our fresh aquarium to a fishing competition to make the day a really fun learning experience. Plus, for those looking for something a bit less fishy, we’ve got children’s entertainment shows and activities to keep them busy while you watch on while enjoying your fresh Blue Cod… mmm yes we can taste it already too!

Wanting to learn how to cook seafood like a pro? The Culinary Pavilion is home to local artisans and inspiring cooking demonstrations from local and well-known chefs who can de-sea-mystify how to make the most of your fish while impressing your tastebuds.

Getting there and back to Port Chalmers is made simple with FREE buses for ticket holders, leaving from the Dunedin Railway Station and the festival regularly. Or, take in some history with an additional option to travel along the harbourside with Dunedin Railways on the Emerson's Express (numbers are strictly limited).*
