As the evenings start to cool, it’s the perfect time for an Autumnal feast and we are excited to welcome the New Zealand String Quartet to The Runholder for an Autumnal Feast of fine food & chamber music on Friday 26th April.
Established in 1987, the New Zealand String Quartet – Te Rōpu Tūrū O Aotearoa offers transformative chamber music encounters for New Zealanders, earning global acclaim for insightful interpretations and dynamic performances. Their repertoire places New Zealand compositions alongside works by familiar classical masters. Transitioning to their 2024 season, Soundscapes, the Quartet explores the nexus of music and environment. Venturing beyond the traditional concert halls, Soundscapes will explore eco-sanctuaries, art galleries, and unique venues like The Runholder in Martinborough.
The Quartet, comprising of Helene Pohl (Violin I), Monique Lapins (Violin II), Gillian Ansell (Viola) & Rolf Gjelsten (Cello) will play a thoughtfully curated selection of classical works designed to pair perfectly with every step of the evenings culinary journey.
Head Chef Tim Smith has crafted a three-course Autumn feast celebrating Wairarapa’s best. Menu details to come.
