POSTPONEMENT OF THE HAURAKI BIKE FEST

An announcement from Diane Drummond, Chief Executive Officer - Hauraki Rail Trail Charitable Trust

I regret to inform you that the Hauraki Bike Fest 2024 due to be held on 6/7 April has been postponed. All ticket holders that have pre-purchased tickets will be refunded 100% of the ticket price. iTICKET will be in touch directly with ticket holders.

I have made this difficult decision due to circumstances beyond our control, which have subsequently caused us to re-evaluate the timing of our event. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.

We will provide an update once we have resolved the underlying issues that lead to this decision, including additional funding, and resolving some of the legislative issues we faced.

Thank you for supporting the inaugural Hauraki Bike Fest event, and we look forward to making this awesome event happen in the future.

Stay curious and creative on The Sculpture Trail, and enjoy a leisurely ride for art lovers, with a visit to the gallery of a renown, local sculptor. Experience fresh and authentic paddock to plate cuisine for lunch served with wine.

Embark on a creative journey of discovery exploring the fascinating sculptures made from scrap metal and raw materials, located on the Sculpture Trail and at the sculptor’s gallery. Leaving Paeroa, riders cross over the Ohinemuri River, following the old train track formation through lush Waikato farmland dotted with dairy cows and farm animals.

The Kaimai-Mamaku Ranges, Mt Te Aroha (The Mountain of Love), and expansive views over the Hauraki Plains are a feast for the eyes. Passing through Tirohia and Mangaiti there’s time to slow down the pace, take in the landscape, stop for coffee and admire the scenery.

Re-fuel with a delicious buffet lunch of New Zealand lamb and beef carvery in Te Aroha West before riding the Sculpture Trail. A gallery stop in Te Aroha affords a labyrinth of fascinating creations, illustrating the breadth and depth of the artist’s talent. Taste the mouthwatering flavours of the region with a visit to a local boutique producer, before your return journey to Paeroa by shuttle.

Arrive by shuttle at the Paeroa Maritime Park and enjoy the Festival Hub atmosphere and be in with a chance to win the Grand Prize - a West Coast Wilderness Trail Experience plus other giveaways. Fuel up with delicious fare, grab a cold drink, listen to live music, kick back, and share the highlights of your Bike Fest experience with family and friends.
