Theatre Whakatāne proudly presents their season of Blackadder Goes Forth, the fourth series of the immensely popular BBC show written by Richard Curtis and Ben Elton.
We find Captain Edmund Blackadder stuck in the trenches of the Great War alongside his usual inept and hopelessly stupid sidekicks Private S. Baldrick and Lieutenant George. Blackadder comes up with a series of cunning plans to avoid becoming part of the ‘Big Push’. These include directing a concert party, tracking down a spy in the field hospital, then joining the Twenty Minuters air force squadron. As each plan successively fails, he decides to pretend to be mad. Will this last-ditch cunning plan work, or will Blackadder end up going over the top?
