A new collection of short films created and brought to you by local filmmakers. Spending a lot of time and passion to make a short film only to send it off onto the internet can feel like screaming into the void. Last year, I screened a couple of short films to a packed out cinema and would you believe it I’VE GONE AND HIRED A CINEMA AGAIN AND DOUBLED THE PROGRAMME!

This year I’m putting on four shorts on Sunday 8 December. Films by me, Yarden (local filmmaking, oat-sippin’ nerd) along with Ollie Madsen (the man behind the lens, he of sharp moustache) and Faith Cruz (Sound Queen, vibe bringer). Filmmaking is nothing without collaboration. All profit made will be shared amongst those who gave their time and dedication to bringing this showcase to life. So by coming along not only do you get to see four brand new shorts, you’ll be supporting local artists while doing it!

      Oh, one more thing –

WE’RE THROWING AN AFTER PARTY TOO!

After the screening stroll up the street to Move Space and join the cast and crew for the after-party. Gorgeous rooftop BBQ on a summer Sunday afternoon? What a way to celebrate the minor miracle that is finishing a film, let alone 4! Maybe you have a project you’re trying to crew, maybe you want to lend a hand on set. You could just be into BBQs in a big way. You BYO drinks and we’ll bring the food.

And the music! I’ve invited some incredibly talented musicians to play their butts off for us downstairs. We’ve got brand new music from the one and only Leea Lamatoa, Goodspace will be in the house hot of a residency at the Lim Chhour food-court performing tracks from their recent release “Let’s Talk About Death”, and Bray Jeffrey will perform a line up of new material with the musicians whose sound brought the films to life. You may hear a song you’ll never hear again or witness the rough start of a future banger. If you’d like to come to both the screening and the after-party, firstly: legend. Secondly: you’ll need to buy a ticket to each event.

Come grab a plate, have a dance and celebrate with us.
