Countess Olivia attracts numerous male suitors in whom she has no interest... until fresh faced "Cesario" enters through her gates. Despite her declaration to renounce the presence of men, something about this charming page sees "him" welcomed in her company.

The Arden Ensemble is proud to present this lesbian interpretation of Shakespeare's notoriously homoerotic comedy. This production is a colourful, dazzling take on the Bard's classic comedy, combining traditional poetry and prose with queer contemporary sparkle. Get ready for Twelfth Night reimagined, drenched in flowers, and, as always, featuring live music and a rousing Shakespearean jig. This is a joyous, cathartic comedy that is not to be missed.

      SYNOPSIS

Shipwrecked and in disguise as "Cesario", Viola seeks safety in Illyria through employment from the Duke Orsino. As she falls in love with him, he pines for the hard-to-get Olivia - she's wealthy and beautiful, which is all that matters, at least to Orsino. At home, Olivia's posse get up to some raucous antics within the estate as they plot revenge on the tyrannical steward Malvolio. Hope is dwindling for Viola's brother's safe return, as dutiful love and care brings old feuds to rest and new love to blossom.
