Canada’s Talk Is Free Theatre invites you to walk into the woods to retrace steps taken by a classic heroine of Russian folktales. Find out What She Burned in an immersive installation featuring mid-century bootlegging techniques fused with modern projection art. Inspired by a children’s story about a young woman facing an evil witch in the woods, this piece has dark elements and is experienced in intimate groups.
The installation is located in the bush approximately 10 minutes walk from the main Gardens entrance. Wayfinding signage will be on site to help guide you to the experience and Front of House staff.
Access Note: Nestled in the palms at the Gardens, audience cross approximately 10m of grass and 5m of mulch to reach the installation.
Talk Is Free Theatre is an award-winning theatre company based just north of Toronto in Barrie, Canada, and is best known for its over 20-year history of wowing audiences with new creations, unexpected reimaginings of established works, and neglected classics at home and around the globe.
Based on the folklore by Alexander Afanasyev. Created amd artistically led by Joe Pagnan. This production was made possible with the generous support of the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council.
