Reasonable fitness for a short, steep ascent.

Sturdy footwear, warm clothing, binoculars and walking poles and sun protection.

BYO lunch, drink and snacks.

Matiu Somes Island in Wellington Harbour has a long and interesting history. It is now home to tuatara, Cook Strait giant weta, sea and land birds. Bring your Gold Card (if you have one) for the ferry.

Depart 6am. Return approx 6pm.
