GRAMMY Award-winning violinist and producer Johnny Gandelsman is bringing his masterful performance of J.S.Bach’s Complete Cello Suites to St Mary of the Angels in his first ever New Zealand performance.  

Following his celebrated debut recording of Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Classical Chart, the co-founder of Brooklyn Rider and member of Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble will perform all six Cello Suites on the violin.  

A virtuoso across a range of styles, Gandelsman's folksy interpretation of this classic work exceeds a note-to-note transcription, celebrating improvisation and ingenuity.
