      THE JUNIOR THEATRE FESTIVAL IS AOTEAROA’S LARGEST CELEBRATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE AND MUSICAL THEATRE!

      Joining the ranks of JTF Atlanta, JTF Sacramento, JTF Europe and JTF Australia, the Junior Theatre Festival New Zealand is part of a worldwide network. 

      Junior Theatre Festival New Zealand began in 2017 under the umbrella of The Amici Trust with Emma Bishop in the role of National Coordinator. The event steadily expanded over the past seven years with the inclusion of:

      • the Festival Pilot Programme which runs in the week leading up to the festival. 
      • The Pilot Programme brings together students from across the motu to work on two yet to be released Broadway JR. titles, culminating with a showing of work on the opening night of the festival.
      • Professional development track for kaiako, artistic team members and adults Student workshops in dance, acting and music
      • On the Couch with Emma – an interview with industry fav’s Audition opportunities for Kiwi AllStars America, Europe and Australia
      • This event produced by the team at StageAntics and under the educational and artistic supervision of iTheatrics, sponsored by Music Theatre International Australasia, the Junior Theatre Festival New Zealand (JTFNZ) brings students, teachers and industry professionals together to celebrate a shared passion for musical theatre at what promises to be a weekend to remember!

      The event starts on the Friday afternoon with group registration, Professional Development for teacher/creatives from 12pm ahead of our opening ceremony and a showing of the first Pilot Showing from 3:00pm.
      The students then have their first workshop before the second Pilot Showing at 7:00pm.
      Then Saturday is a full-day of celebrations.

      Earlybird prices end 15 June..
      Group registrations close Sunday 1 September.
