Port Otago is opening its gates on Labour Day Monday, so our community can enjoy a rare look inside the fences of this key Otago business. The port turns 150 years old this year. What better way to celebrate than with our kaimahi and neighbours - the very people that we work alongside every day of the year. 

Our gates open at 10:00am. At 10:30am, the action begins: port-wide bus tours, dredging, straddle and forklift displays, FENZ, Coastguard and Water Rescue displays, step on board a tug, get up close to our dredges, fishing off the wharf, bouncy castles, face painting – and exclusive add-on tickets available for crane rides, and rides on board the tugs and pilot boats. There will also be a selection of food stalls to satisfy hungry children and adults, alike. The day winds up at 3:00pm. 

Proceeds raised from our event will be donated to Port Chalmers Maritime Museum.
