North Canterbury Musical Society proudly presents their 2025 production of the vibrant and 4th wall breaking musical comedy, Catch Me If You Can. Centred around the real life story of one of America’s most prolific con-men that also inspired the 2002 movie of the same name. Set in various locations around the world in the 1960’s, the story follows Frank Abagnale Jnr, who between the ages of 16-21, stole roughly 2.5 million dollars through various scams and tactics. What started as a way of using the skills his father taught him as a means of helping him get back on his feet, quickly spiraled into a years long game of cat and mouse with law enforcement. Throughout his career, he was wanted in more than 30 countries and tracked relentlessly by FBI special agent Carl Hanratty. Struggling to balance his life of deceit and his relationship with his family, along with the newfound love of his life, Brenda Strong. Frank uses all of his skills and charm to get away with every scheme he can think of while he narrates the show to provide a full confession of his crimes.

With a jazzy score, toe-tapping numbers, emotional ballads, hilarious laughs throughout and a mix of real life and fictional characters providing a riveting story of family and love. This is your boarding call. Buckle in for a turbulent ride. But as they say, the Jet Set is the only way to go!
