In this context, Baroque refers to the period of music composed between around 1600 and 1750. Three of the concert works by Pergolesi, Telemann, and Handel fall into this genre, while the piece by the young 12-year-old Mozart serves as an interesting transition from the Baroque to what was to become the Classical period.
Handel’s Messiah needs no introduction — the choir and soloists will perform many of the best-known solos and choruses.
Programme:
Pergolesi – Stabat Mater
Telemann – Concerto in D for trumpet and two oboes
Mozart – Veni Sancte Spiritus K.47

Elizabeth Mandeno – Soprano
Allison Harker – Mezzo-Soprano
Thomas Røshol – Bass
Alison Jepson – Oboe
