Featuring Napier Reps three entries in the 2026 TheatreFest One Act Play Competition.

This is a fantastic opportunity to preview the three plays before the One Act Play Competition on Saturday 22 August.

Ticket holders to the 'Showcase' are offered complimentary attendance to the TheatreFest One Act Play Competition, with adjudication and announcement of awards, held at the Napier Little Theatre on Sat 22 August at 1:30pm.

2026 Entries include;

'Touch of the Sun' by Renee
Directed by John Cocking
Lillibet and Mugro meet to sort through their mother's clothes after she has died. The play is about the relationships between the three women.

Lill and Hope, a bench in the CBD. Apparently two women from very different backgrounds - the rude bitch on the bench and the privileged resident of the poncey place with walls and gates. Or are they?

'Challenger 1986' by Anthony Collier & Hayley Munro

'Challenger 1986' follows the events of the Challenger space shuttle on the day of the tragic explosion. The writing room of a prestigious children's television show deals with the death of Big Bird, as they grapple with how to heal a grieving nation.
