When four down on their luck Broadway stars discover a small town girl who simply wants to take her girlfriend to the prom, they decide to make it their new cause. What begins as a clumsy PR stunt quickly transforms into an uplifting journey of courage, connection, and the reminder that everyone deserves a place where they belong.

Bursting with show-stopping dance numbers, powerhouse vocals, outrageous comedy, and heart-melting moments, THE PROM is a celebration of love in all its forms, loud, proud, complicated, and defiantly joyful. This Rotorua Musical Theatre production brings together a dazzling creative team, with Ben Kidd making his directorial debut, Alex Pelham-Waerea showcasing his smooth vocal leadership, and Samantha Jones shaping the show as choreographer. The Prom contains LGBTQ+ themes (including coming out and acceptance), mild sexual references, some adult humour, occasional strong language, bullying, and family conflict.

For this reason, we recommend the production for ages 12 and over, with parental guidance advised.

• The venue opens at 7:00 PM. We encourage patrons to arrive early to allow time for seating and refreshments.

• Please note that vehicles parked in non-designated zones may be towed at the owner’s expense. We recommend arriving early to allow time for parking.
