Celebrate Summer at the Katikati Avo Fest 2026!
Get ready for an unforgettable summer day! Join us on Saturday, 10 January 2026, at Katikati’s stunning Uretara Domain for world-class music, mouth-watering food and drink, and avo-inspired culinary demos with celebrity chef Chelsea Winter.
Katikati Avo Fest is a vibrant celebration of everything we love about summer in New Zealand.
Since 2004, Katikati Avo Fest has attracted crowds from across the Bay of Plenty and beyond with its laid-back vibes, dance-worthy live bands, hourly cooking demonstrations, and an irresistible selection of avocado-inspired food and drinks.
This family-friendly festival has something for everyone, with kids kept entertained all day by mini golf, circus workshops, face painting, giant games, and more. Fun, flavour, and summer energy all in one place!
The music line-up opens with Wellington favourites The Relatives, serving up sing- along hits from yesteryear through to modern rock anthems guaranteed to get the crowd moving. They’re followed by Sonar Flare, a high-voltage supergroup led by Jason Kerrison and featuring platinum artists from The Feelers, Opshop, Zed, and Sola Rosa -expect arena-sized energy and massive musicianship. The Lady Killers - Tina Cross, Suzanne Lynch, and Jackie Clarke - then take the spotlight with a
dazzling harmony masterclass that glides from gospel to rock ’n’ roll, delivering pin-drop moments, big laughs, and feel-good thrills.
Rounding out the day is Tami Neilson, a Canadian-born, New Zealand-based country and soul singer and songwriter known for her dynamic, high-octane performances, blending country, soul, and rockabilly. After duetting with Willie Nelson, hitting #1 with KINGMAKER, and selling out orchestral shows with the Auckland Philharmonia, she’s since debuted at the Grand Ole Opry, released Neilson Sings Nelson, and dropped the acclaimed 2025 album Neon Cowgirl—plus US tour supports with Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan. Expect a roof-raising blend of country, soul, and rock ’n’ roll from a “fire-breathing belter” (Rolling Stone) who leaves crowds grinning and goose bumped.
It’s the perfect summer afternoon to relax and enjoy - or get up and dance. With great music, delicious food, and plenty of fun to be had, Katikati Avo Fest is the place to be. Everyone leaves with a smile - it’s the ultimate summer experience!
