Catch Me If You Can is an incredibly entertaining, high-flying musical comedy based on the true story and the hit 2002 film, starring Leonardo DiCaprio. This delightful show is about chasing your dreams without getting caught. The musical was created by a Tony Award-winning “dream team,” with a book by Terrence McNally (Ragtime) and a swinging score by Marc Shaiman and
Scott Wittman (Hairspray).
The story follows Frank Abagnale Jr., a young man who runs away from home and embarks on an unforgettable adventure. Armed with nothing more than his charm and a stash of forged checks, Frank successfully poses as a pilot, doctor, and lawyer, living the high life and even winning the girl of his dreams. Meanwhile, FBI agent Carl Hanratty relentlessly pursues Frank across the country, determined to bring him to justice.
Based on the DreamWorks motion picture, Catch Me If You Can features a book by Terrence McNally, music by Marc Shaiman, and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman. Directed and produced by June Renwick, with choreography by Vicky Wong and Jarrod Brown, and musical direction by Hugo Austin-Murray.
