Playwright Laura Wade picks up the story, writing herself into the action as she tries to steer the characters toward a conclusion. But Austen’s creations have minds of their own—and soon revolt against their playwright and the confines of the genre.

What starts as a picture-perfect Austen tale quickly unravels into theatrical mayhem. Philosophical debates, the Napoleonic wars, Candy Crush, and even alien invasions collide in a fast-moving, meta-theatrical comedy that gleefully dismantles any expectations you might have.
