In a poignant theatrical experience Marmite & Honey unfolds as a pressure cooker drama spanning twenty-four hours.
Join the Whānau of William on this journey of remembrance and introspection as each character delves into the complexities of mourning, inviting reflection on how you cope with the departure of a loved one.
Join the Whānau of William on this journey of remembrance and introspection. The young men shield themselves with humour, the aunties keep themselves busy, the kids play rugby and the uncles do anything but talk about it. Each character delves into the complexities of mourning, inviting reflection on how you cope with the departure of a loved one.
Rainton Oneroa (Te Aupōuri) is an actor, musician and playwright. He is a graduate of The Actors Programme (2023). In 2021 he released his first EP, A Diary That Just Happens to Rhyme, exploring his identity as a Māori artist. Marmite & Honey is his first play.
Marmite & Honey is part of our development programme to support new work. This year the Festival is spotlighting promising young Māori playwrights with play readings directed by Jason Te Kare.
