Once upon a time, there was someone who felt growing up was like constantly being at university, another for whom falling in love was like playing roulette in a casino, and another whose jealousy was like eating spicy food every day.
Living Is Like harnesses the power of metaphor to unleash the hidden emotions behind our everyday actions, the way we think about ourselves, and how we view each other.
Andrea Ferpo is a multidisciplinary Peruvian artist working at the intersection of theatre, improvisation, and psychology. An actress, director, clown, and teacher, she is known for her distinctive approach to sensory improvisation (Impro Sensorial)—a practice that centres the body, emotion, and intuition as the starting point for performance.
Ferpo is the founder of Marandí Arte Escénico in Lima, and her work has travelled across Latin America as well as to Australia and Aotearoa. Alongside her theatre practice, she is trained in psychodrama, bringing a deep understanding of human behaviour and emotional landscapes into her creative work.
Her performances are immersive, playful, and emotionally resonant, often inviting audiences into a shared space of reflection and discovery. Through projects like Living is Like, she explores how metaphor, storytelling, and improvisation can reveal the subtle ways we make sense of our lives.
