A programme of conversation & discourse, writing & language, story telling & theatre
130 million books have been written in the world. Millions of words a second are published online. There are thousands of ideas and voices, all asking us to listen. So what cuts through? Which voices do we choose to hear? And which ones do we need to hear?
This year at Going West a diverse lineup of incisive writers will dissect our theme from every angle. Cutting through worlds or through waters. Cutting through with new voices or through the neighbour’s backyard. Cutting through old ties. Cutting through the bullshit and cutting to the bone. And as often happens at Going West, some unexpected and unplanned themes will break through the surface of our programme and carve themselves a space in the conversation.
This year at Going West, it’s time to cut through.
