Event Details
Tearfund’s Artisan Cheese event is a journey of discovery, expertly pairing some of New Zealand’s finest artisan cheeses with selected wines together with complementary salads and desserts in the stunning ambience of The Northern Club, our partner for this event and one of Auckland’s finest venues.
Juliet Harbutt, a world renowned Master of Cheese, will create a memorable experience as she shares years of internationally honed expertise and storytelling to accompany boutique food and wine. Juliet has been Chief Judge at the British Cheese Awards and a judge at many famous European Cheese Award events. She has also been a consultant to Harrods, Marks and Spencers and Prince Charles.
A major feature of the evening will profile Tearfund’s Sri Lanka Dairy Expansion Project.
Well known media commentator and Tearfund Ambassador, Rod Oram will invite you to join an exclusive partnership as lives are being transformed through the regeneration of the dairy industry. We will hear how empowerment turns to enterprise as milk is processed into artisanal dairy products and many communities are impacted as milk becomes the vehicle for rebuilding lives broken by civil war and the Indian Ocean Tsunami.
This is an evening not to be missed as you enjoy a stunning selection of cheese, food and wine with the wit and humour of a master presenter and we raise support for farmer families who are regaining hope for the future through the dairy industry.
This event is proudly supported by Juliet Harbutt, Rod Oram, The Northern Club and Musician, Chris Mason-Battley.

About Tearfund
Tearfund has been operating in New Zealand for 44 years, saving lives in over 46 countries.
We believe communities know the issues they face better than anyone, so we identify local community organisations around the world to partner with and work alongside. Through these partners we work across four causes to help those most in need. We protect the vulnerable from Modern Slavery. We Restore hope and peace after disaster strikes. We Sponsor children in need. We Empower the poor in order to support themselves. This approach empowers communities to help themselves and find local, long term, sustainable solutions to poverty.
The Sri Lanka Dairy Expansion Project is our flagship programme so we are excited to share more about this success story at our Artisan Cheese event.
